Dr. Hoefer poses Modest Challenges that are needed to ensure that social workers can address the Grand Challenges.

A new Special Issue from Human Service Organizations: Management, Leadership & Governance invited researchers, educators, and practitioners to explore questions at the intersection of: the increasingly complex environment of public and private human service organizations; the rise and uncertain effects of new research and educational developments in social work, public policy and public management, and related helping professions; and the desire to identify and support future generations of organizational and management practitioners and scholar-researchers. The 10 contributors provide panoramic overviews of critical human service organizational and management practice challenges as well as new and needed research frontiers.

Among other important contributions, Dr. Richard Hoefer (University of Texas at Arlington) poses four Modest Challenges that are needed to ensure that social workers can address the Grand Challenges.
