NASW Virtual Forum: Domestic Violence Through the Social Work Lens

On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States – that’s more than 10 million domestic violence cases a year. Social workers provide counseling and support through many settings such as shelter programs, healthcare offices, individual counseling, and court advocacy, as well as advocate for programs and legislation to address domestic violence. This forum will help social workers gain a deeper understanding and knowledge base of how to assist their clients in dealing with domestic violence.

With substantial collaboration with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, a variety of sessions will have special emphasis on social work within the veteran community. More information and registration.
