Disability and Social Work: Imagining Disabled Futures Convening and Un-Conference

Join the Disability and Social Work: Imagining Disabled Futures Convening and Un-Conference, hosted by The Social Work Disability Justice League.

This convening and un-conference is designed to support the envisioning of how disability and social work can look across education, practice, research, and even the grand challenges as we move forward towards not just anti-ableist but truly inclusive and affirming social work. Our event will be taking place during the week of September 18-22, 2023. Sessions will be held online (over zoom, with captions) in the afternoons (ET), and there will be lots of options for asynchronous (at your own pace) engagement. This is a CASUAL event – you do not need to prepare anything, and we invite you to show up as you are, and engage in the ways that are comfortable to you. We welcome people from all areas of disability lived experience, knowledge, and practice – all we ask is that you care about improving disability within social work practice, education, and research, and are committed to centering disabled voices. This event is FREE for all to attend.
