Grand Challenges #1 – Advance long and productive lives
Everyone should enjoy creative, productive lives, but economic, social and cultural factors create wasted human capital. Young people need chances to develop social and job skills. People in mid-life require opportunities to balance on-going career development with the time and flexibility to care for families and enrich their personal lives. Ageism shunts too many older people from constructive pursuits. Throughout the lifespan, fuller engagement in both paid and unpaid productive activities can improve health and well-being, foster greater financial security, and create a more vital society.
