3rd National Survey on Incorporation of the Grand Challenges into Social Work Curricula, 2025-26

Results from the third Grand Challenges for Social Work survey of college and university social work programs are now available. This survey explores how BSW, MSW, and doctoral-level programs are incorporating the Grand Challenges into their curricula. Nearly 60% of responding programs reported engaging in Grand Challenges activities, ranging from an annual lecture to broader program-level integration. The findings also highlight the importance of interdisciplinary and intersectoral collaboration in preparing the next generation of social workers to engage with the Grand Challenges. As the Initiative enters its next decade, an important priority will be moving Grand Challenges solutions beyond academic settings and into the local communities that need them.
