Luis Zayas, PhD
Zayas is now the Dean at the University of Texas at Austin and has served as the Shanti K. Khinduka Distinguished Professor of Social Work at the George Warren Brown School of Social Work and professor of psychiatry in the School of Medicine at Washington University. Dr. Zayas is an NIH funded investigator and a master teacher.
He has has been awarded Leadership Awards from the New York City Latino Social Work Task Force (2006) and the National Association of Puerto Rican/Hispanic Social Workers (2002). His expertise in teaching has been acknowledged through the following honors, “Excellence in Mentoring Doctoral Students Award” (2004-05) and “Outstanding Faculty Mentor” (2004-5).
